Performance Appraisal Training for Supervisors

Performance Appraisal Training for Supervisors will be offered on March 8th, March 27th and April 4th. Participants will learn how to approach and follow through with the performance appraisal and the entire performance management process. The training will focus on performance appraisals for P&S and Merit staff but Student Employment staff will be present to provide a short overview related to evaluating student employees. Online Registration is required.

My Well-being: Freezer Meal Prep Class

UNI Employee Well-being will be hosting a freezer meal prep class led by UNI’s Administrative Dietitian Lisa Krausman and Food Service Supervisor Juli Strasser. In this food demonstration participants will be assisted in creating eight different healthy freezer meals. This is a great opportunity to learn new and easy recipes while stocking up on healthy meals for the weeks ahead. This demonstration will be held on March 6 from 5:15-6:30 p.m. in the Maucker Union Catering Kitchens. The cost of this presentation is $60, and covers the entire cost of participation (food, supplies, etc.).

Financial Wellness: Halfway There

Human Resource Services will host three informational sessions on a mid-career financial check-up. Join us and learn how to evaluate your current savings, formulate a plan to help pursue your savings goals, and manage competing financial priorities. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. The hour long sessions will be presented by TIAA and held on: April 16 at 3 p.m. in the State College Room MAU, 5:15 p.m. in GIL 007/009, and April 17 at noon in the State College Room MAU.

Financial Wellness: Tax Reform Webinar

For the first time in over 30 years there has been a tax overhaul and the new provisions may impact you in several different ways. This webinar will break down the new tax plan and help you understand how it may affect your financial and estate planning. All faculty and staff are welcome to tune into this webinar presented by TIAA. The webinar will be February 21 from 11 a.m. to noon.

My Well-being: Lifestyle Choices for a Healthy Heart

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, but it is also one of the most preventable. Human Resource Services will host a one hour session on the different lifestyle changes you can make to increase your heart health. This session will be presented by Merriam Lake from Covenant Wellness on February 22 at noon in GIL 007. All faculty and staff are welcome. Please register in advance.

Retirement Readiness: Social Security Presentation

Human Resources will host three one hour informational sessions on Social Security benefits and preparing for retirement. Learn how Social Security benefits affect retirement, strategies to maximize your benefits, and ideas to help you set up your retirement income. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Sessions will be presented by VALIC and held on: April 2 at 3 p.m. in the ScholarSpace LIB, 5:15 p.m. in GIL 007/009, and April 3 at noon in the ScholarSpace LIB.

My Well-being: Cancer Prevention and Awareness

Cancer impacts all of us. As many as 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will experience cancer in their lifetime. Human Resource Services will host a one hour session on cancer prevention and necessary screenings. This session will be presented by Jill Baker, R.N., Cancer Program Coordinator for Covenant Health Services on March 20 at 10 a.m. in the State College Room MAU. All faculty and staff are welcome. Please register in advance.
