2018 Annual Benefits Open Enrollment – Going on now!

The 2018 Annual Benefits Open Enrollment period is going on now and will run until November 30, 2017. During this time you may review and change your benefit elections. Any changes made to your benefit elections will be effective January 1, 2018. Are you concerned about having enough in retirement to cover healthcare costs?  If so, please attend our next monthly presentation, Healthy Numbers: Integrating Healthcare into Your Retirement Plans. A healthy retirement starts with your good health. Budgeting now for healthcare costs during retirement can help. TIAA’s workshop leader will discuss the importance of healthcare planning within your retirement strategy. Presentations will be held on November 27th at 7 p.m. and November 28th at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., in the State College Room at Maucker.

Freezer Meal Prep Class

UNI Employee Well-being will be hosting a freezer meal prep class led by UNI’s Administrative Dietitian, Lisa Krausman and Food Service Supervisor Juli Strasser. In this food demonstration, participants will be assisted in creating eight different healthy freezer meals. This is a great opportunity to learn some new, easy recipes and stock up on healthy meals for the weeks ahead. This demonstration will be held on November 2nd, from 5:15-6:30 p.m. in the Maucker Union Catering Kitchens.

Sugar High: Diabetes Awareness Prevention

October is the leading month for candy sales nationwide (2 billion spent on candy in the U.S. each year). This season tends to start the holiday eating trend, and includes a lot of added sweets. Type II Diabetes is a chronic disease which, in most cases, can be prevented. This session welcomes all employees to come and raise awareness about this chronic condition, learn about disease management, and find out about healthy tips to aid in prevention. Join us on October 26th, from 12-1 p.m. in Gilchrist 007.

  • Focus on how you look at saving and spending
  • Help you evaluate debt – and find ways to help manage it
