This phishing attack attempts to emulate the look of a genuine UNI website and email address. This message is not a real notification. If you have received this or similar messages, please forward them on to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Tallgrass Prairie Center is offering Wildflower Walks to UNI faculty and staff again this year! Every Wednesday, beginning June 28th, from 11:30 to noon participants can join Laura Jackson, director of the Tallgrass Prairie Center, for a guided tour of the beautiful campus wildflowers. Take a break from your long work day to get some exercise and fresh air all while learning about the beautiful wildflowers growing here on UNI’s campus. Tours will begin at the Maucker Union Plaza. Have you ever wanted to garden but aren't sure how or lack a place to put one of your own? Stop in anytime, as your schedule allows, between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesdays in June to enjoy various garden activities at Creekside Harmony Educational Garden (located behind the CEEE). We will have gloves and tools for you, just be sure to come in closed toed shoes. This activity it suitable for any level of skill - no previous experience is necessary. No registration is required to attend, and you may attend as many or as few sessions as you’d like.

UNI Employee Well-being invites you to participate in the Burst Your Thirst Challenge (BYT), which begins on June 12th and continues on until July 21st! The challenge focuses on teams (2-10 individuals) engaged in a competition to track water consumption and minutes of physical activity. Additionally, UNI Employee Well-being supports the effort by providing weekly emails and opportunities for participants across campus to win exciting incentive prizes! In honor of Cedar Valley’s Bike to Work Week, taking place from May 15-19th, UNI Employee Well-being would like to encourage all UNI employees to take advantage of this week and get on their bikes! Individuals that post a picture of themselves biking to work during this week will be entered in a drawing for an exciting incentive prize! Picture submissions should be posted to the “Employee Well-being” Facebook page by Sunday, May 21st, as winners will be announced the following Monday!
The Workplace Local Food Box program is available for UNI employees to purchase subscriptions of fresh, locally-grown food to have delivered to UNI. A food box is a bag of groceries filled with milk, meat, eggs, processed products, and produce, featuring products from local growers, creameries, and processors. Each week the food box has different contents. Employees can pick up their bag of fresh groceries every Friday from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in Gilchrist 007.
The Cedar Valley Blue Zones Project is teaming up with Cedar Valley SportsPlex and Waterloo Mayor Hart for a family friendly event on May 12th. Walk Waterloo is a celebration of 5 years of the Cedar Valley Blue Zones Project and the amazing growth of Downtown Waterloo! Walk Waterloo is a one mile walk/run that will begin at Lincoln Park at 5:00 p.m. Entry is $10; this will provide each participant with a #WalkWaterloo t-shirt and help contribute a donation of fresh produce to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. We would like to encourage UNI employees to attend and promote wellness in Waterloo.
Beginning Monday, May 8, summer hours for university offices will be 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, August 11. Please coordinate department operations accordingly and communicate changes to affected staff.
Join us for a presentation on April 13th, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. to talk about seven types of difficult people. We will be introduced to common behaviors and learn coping strategies for dealing with challenging individuals. Please register in advance for this presentation.
