Financial Wellness: Your Credit Report

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on what information is in a credit report, what it is used for, and how it can affect you financially. Learn who the 3 major credit reporting agencies are and what they do with your information. Recognize which factors usually increase your credit risk in the eyes of the reporting agencies. Learn to read a credit report, find and correct errors on your report, and improve your credit score. Find where you can get help and better control your credit today. This session will be presented by Regions on March 8 at 11 a.m., via Zoom.

My Well-being: Supporting Someone Who is Grieving

Cedar Valley Hospice counselors will provide information on how to support someone who is grieving and resources available in the community. This session will be held on February 23 at 10:30 a.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.

Retirement Readiness: Retire from UNI

Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. This hour-long session will take place on February 21 at 2 p.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.

This session will be presented by Regions Bank on February 15 at noon, via Zoom. Please register in advance.

My Well-being: Heart Health

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on heart health in recognition of American Heart Month. Participants will learn ways they can better their heart health through a healthy lifestyle. This hour-long session will be presented by Merriam Lake, with MercyOne Wellness, on February 14 at 11 a.m. in the State College Room, in Maucker Union. Please register in advance.

IRS Form 1095-C for 2023 Tax Year

As part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employers are required to provide the IRS Form 1095-C to employees who were offered and/or enrolled in employer health insurance. The university will mail the 1095-C to the employee’s home address on file prior to the March 2, 2024 deadline. While you DO NOT need the IRS Form 1095-C to file your 2023 tax return, you do need to keep it with your important tax documents. To show proof of health insurance coverage, UNI sends this information to the IRS on your behalf.

Updating Employee Emergency Contact Information

Accurate and up to date emergency contact information is critical for every employee. In the event of an accident/injury or sudden illness, your Department, Division and/or Human Resource Services will use this information to inform your contact(s). To keep this information current, all University of Northern Iowa employees are urged to update their contact information each year or when a change occurs. To add and/or update your emergency contacts please access UNI e-Business Suite.

The UNI Online Directory is a source for current faculty and staff office contact information. To verify or make changes to your office and/or home (confidential) contact information, login to MyUNIverse > My Page > Update My Personal Information.  This information is sent directly to Human Resource Services via e-mail and will be updated within four working days.
