GUIDELINES

Determining the Appointment Status Date

  • For NEW PAFs, the Appointment Status Date field will default to the PAF Effective Date. Typically, this should not be changed.
  • For CHG PAFs, the date the new Appointment Status becomes effective should be used. If the PAF Preparer selects a different Appointment Status the Appointment Status Date must be changed. Typically, this should be changed to the PAF Effective Date.
  • For Temporary Faculty and Graduate Assistants, the Appointment Status Date changes with each semester (using the same date as the effective date) if "T Fall" or "T Spring" is used as Assignment Category. If "T AY Pd 10" is used, the Appointment Status Date changes with each academic year (using the same date as the PAF Effective Date).
  • For Faculty with a term assignment, typically the Appointment Status Date changes every time they are reappointed (i.e, new offer letter), unless the initial term appointment is being extended.
