Description

The Employee Name Change fields allow the PAF Preparer to enter the employee's name if it is different from the name displayed. Updating an employee's legal name while creating the PAF ensures the employee's personnel file will reflect the name change (read the special note below).

Step-by-Step

Updating an Employee's Legal Name on a PAF

  1. Click once on the box next to Check here if name does not match current name so that a check mark appears.
  2. Wait a second and the Current Name section will expand with three additional text fields.
  3. Complete the fields with the employee's legal name (i.e., not preferred name).

Special Note

An official name change can only take place after a person presents the proper legal documentation to HRS (GIL 027). Legal documentation includes: passport, social security card, driver's license, any notarized document, etc.
