Messy Mornings at Creekside Harmony Garden…..
Have you ever wanted to garden but aren't sure how or lack a place to put one of your own? Join us out in the garden on Tuesday mornings at Creekside Harmony Educational Garden (located behind the CEEE). Stop in, as your schedule allows, anytime between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesdays in June and enjoy various garden activities.
Gardening is a great way to be physically active and connecting with the soil can be very therapeutic. This drop in, informal, time will be geared towards each individual's interests and desired level of physical activity. Participants can be involved in general gardening activities that need to be done, such as planting and weeding, along with other tasks like string trimming, watering, mulching, tilling and small garden projects.
Gardening gloves and tools will be provided, along with guided instructional education in whatever task is at hand. This a great opportunity to get your hands in the soil and learn a new skill or two. For safety concerns we ask that all participants wear closed toed shoes and clothing that can get dirty.
Get Your Garden Groove On
Join us for a two week course on Beginners Gardening. The class will offer you gardening basics and hands on experience in starting a garden, just in time for summer. Running April 3rd through the 14th, we will meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11:15am to 12:30pm. We will cover a gardening basics; starting with the soil and working up to seeds, plants, weed control, pest management, harvesting and planning out your own garden. Gardening is a great way to be physically active and the health benefits don’t stop there! Growing your own produce is a wonderful way to ensure you have plenty of vegetables on hand to enjoy.
Participants will need to wear closed toed shoes for safety. Gloves and tools are provided for any activities planned in the garden. We will work outside as the weather permits. Registration for this year's class has ended.
