  • Wellness Trainings: Learn the latest and greatest information on nutrition, mind-body, financial, and other topics through virtual wellness trainings. Watch for upcoming sessions and be sure to register!

Your EAP benefits continue to be available to you and your household members. However, the new nutrition consulting sessions and virtual wellness trainings are available to employees only.

Preventive Care – What Are You Waiting For?

Preventive care plays a critical role in detecting chronic conditions early, before they develop into more serious and costly health issues. Delaying care can make conditions more difficult to manage and treat over time.

If you are enrolled in the University’s self-insured health and dental plans, it is important to prioritize your preventive visits, including:

  • Annual preventive exam – covered by your health plan

  • Twice-yearly preventive dental visits – covered by your dental plan

  • Annual preventive eye exam – covered by your health plan

Don’t forget to remind those covered on your plans to get their preventive exams too!

Staying up to date with preventive care is a simple and effective way to protect your long-term health and well-being.

New Challenge: Prioritize Prevention

If you're enrolled in a UNI health and/or dental insurance plan, we invite you to participate in the Prioritize Prevention challenge.

Complete the following preventive care visits by December 31 to be entered into a prize drawing:

  • Twice-yearly preventive dental visits

  • Annual preventive eye exam

  • Annual preventive exams

    • Routine physicals
    • Annual OB/GYN Exams
    • Well Child Exams
    • Immunizations
    • Mammograms

Participation is easy, just schedule your appointments and complete your preventive visits by December 31. No registration or tracking is required! Wellmark and Delta Dental will verify completed visits, and eligible employees will be automatically entered into a drawing of multiple prizes. Don’t forget, the challenge includes eligible dependents covered on your UNI health and/or dental plans as well. Make preventive care a priority for your family and take advantage of the benefits available to you!

Visit our Employee Well-being Challenges webpage for more information about this challenge and to explore other opportunities to support your health and well-being.

Is Your Personal Information Up to Date?

As we begin a new semester, take a few minutes to review and update your information in UNI Works to ensure your records are accurate. Having accurate, up-to-date information is essential for every employee.

While you're reviewing your information, take a moment to verify your beneficiary designations as well. Life insurance beneficiaries are managed in UNI Works, while retirement plan beneficiaries must be updated directly through your IPERS or TIAA account.
