Human Resource Services will be hosting the Employee Benefits & Well-being Fair on Tuesday, November 19, in the Maucker Union Ballroom, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for employees to learn more about benefit and well-being vendors from campus and across the Cedar Valley. The HRS benefits team will be available for open enrollment questions and assistance. It will also be the last opportunity to receive your free flu vaccine.
As of the end of September U.S. households can order four additional rapid COVID-19 test kits. We ask that when possible, you use the free options for test kits as the kits are not charged to our self-insured health plans (which impacts employee premiums). These tests are intended for use by the end of 2024. Please visit covidtests.gov for more information on ordering, as well as how to tell if your COVID-19 tests' expiration dates have been extended.
The 2025 Annual Benefits Open Enrollment period will run from Friday, November 1 through Saturday, November 30, 2024. During this time you may review and change your benefit elections. Any changes made to your benefit elections will be effective January 1, 2025. Watch for an email announcement on November 1 as well as an informational mailing that will be sent to your home address later this month.

UNI’s dental plan provides all members two teeth cleanings per year which are 100% covered. Our dental plan offers Enhanced Benefits, a free benefit which provides additional covered teeth cleanings for those who have certain health conditions. Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. This hour-long session will take place on September 18 at 2 p.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.
Human Resource Services will host an informational session on bridging the gap from your employer health plan to Medicare. Learn how to use the Marketplace or healthcare.gov to price Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant plans, and options such as COBRA, short term health plans, sharing programs, and group plans. The hour-long session will be presented by Todd Cooper with Veridian, on September 5, at 11 a.m. in Gilchrist 009.

Join us to learn about Medicare basics, supplemental plans, MedicareBlue Rx Plans (Part D), and Medicare Advantage Plans. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. The hour-long session will be presented by Wellmark, September 17 at noon in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.
Many of the benefits offered by the University have their own unique platform in which a member can log into to assist in managing their benefits. The platforms may contain specific data pertaining to the members account, or additional benefits and tips to utilizing the plan. Examples would be MyWellmark for your health plan, Delta Dental for your dental plan, ASIFlex for your flex spending account, or IPERS and TIAA for retirement.
