Retirement Readiness: Paying Yourself - Income Options in Retirement

Human Resource Services will host two informational sessions on what your income options may be in retirement. Join us to learn the basic rules governing the most common retirement accounts, gain perspective on when to withdraw different assets, and discover the income choices TIAA offers. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. The hour long sessions will be presented by TIAA: February 18 at 3 p.m. and February 19 at noon in the State College Room MAU. When a doctor writes you a prescription, do you know what it’s going to cost prior to arriving at the pharmacy? Is the cost less at another pharmacy and/or less than your co-pay? Did you ask if the medication can be written as a 90-day prescription? Is there a generic available? Do you know if it is even covered under your health plan?

IRS Form 1095-C for 2018 tax year

As part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employers are required to provide the IRS Form 1095-C to employees who were offered and/or enrolled in employer health insurance. This form identifies the employee/employer relationship, what months the employee was eligible for coverage and the lowest monthly premium offered to the employee. For the purpose of the “Health Care: Individual Responsibility” section on the 2018 tax forms, all UNI employee health insurance plans offered meet the “minimum essential coverage requirement” under the ACA.

Taking Ownership: New Wellmark ID Cards

You should have received a new Wellmark ID card in the mail. Your new ID card includes a new Wellmark ID number, so it’s important to put it in your wallet and destroy any old ID cards. If you use an old card, your claims could be delayed or possibly denied. Always show your doctor’s office or pharmacy the most up-to-date card. To ensure you are using the most recent card, look for the print date shown in the lower left corner on the front of your card. You may log into your MyWellmark account to request additional cards if needed.
