Utilizing this service saves you money as a 90 day supply will only cost you two prescription copayments, instead of three. UNI's self-insured health plans have paid over $15,000 for COVID-19 test kits year-to-date. There are several resources on how to obtain free COVID-19 test kits. We ask that you use the free options for test kits as the kits are not charged to our self-insured health plans (which impacts employee premiums). Retirement Readiness: Retire from UNI

Human Resource Services will host two informational sessions on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. The hour-long sessions will be presented by Therese Callaghan, Employee Well-being Coordinator, on September 6 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.

Own Your Benefits: Updating Your Primary Care Provider (PCP)

For those benefit eligible employees covered under the UNI Blue Advantage health insurance plan, you and those you’re covering, may update your PCP at any time by calling the number on the back of your Wellmark ID card. PCP’s cannot be updated through the Benefits Self-Service system.

We are halfway through the FSA year so it is a great time to remind those who have elected an FSA to submit for reimbursements. Sunscreen and over-the-counter allergy medications are eligible for reimbursement. For a listing of eligible expenses, as well as over-the-counter eligible expenses, visit the FSA website.

Employees, their dependents, and beneficiaries have access to tools provided by ARAG® to create important and necessary documents such as a Will, Living Will, Healthcare Power of Attorney and many other legal documents for free. The American Cancer Society’s recommendation is for those who are turning age 45 to start screening for colon cancer. Our self-insured health plans cover a colonoscopy as a preventive service. Contact your provider to receive guidance on when, and how often you should test based on your family’s health history.
