The services provided by Employee Well-being are designed to assist employees in obtaining and maintaining health and well-being in all aspects of their lives. This includes physical, financial, work, and social well-being. This program is a part of the complete benefits package provided to you by the university.

This quick and easy health check gives you a snapshot of your overall wellness and helps uncover potential health risks—so you can take proactive steps toward feeling your best.
Flu Prevention
UNI Student Health Clinic staff administers on-campus flu vaccination clinics for faculty and staff. Flu vaccinations are provided at no cost to all benefit-eligible employees.

Employee Assistance Program
Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is your personal support system, offering free and confidential services to you and your family members to navigate life’s challenges and reach your full potential- on the job and at home. Your EAP offers counseling, life and first responder coaching, financial and legal consultation, child and eldercare resources, ID theft assistance, and peer support services.

Giving back through service and volunteering is an important part of UNI’s culture. There are many opportunities to serve and make a difference, both on-campus and in the Cedar Valley.
Financial Health
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Need help with a specific financial matter? Your EAP can connect you with a certified financial expert for a free, 30-minute telephonic consultation.
Will Preparation Services
This service is offered through ARAG Services, LLC and allows you to create a will, living will, and/or power of attorney documents for free. These documents provide legal documentation of your wishes if you are not able to speak for yourself. As long as you are covered by UNI’s life insurance plan, you will be able to create and change the documents with no charge.
Maximize Your Flex Savings
The university offers eligible employees two optional flexible spending accounts to contribute to. Flex spending account plans allow you to set aside money from your paycheck pre-tax to pay for out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses.
Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness
Individuals who work in the public sector (e.g. UNI employees) may qualify for the Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. UNI Employees who have federal student loans (direct loans) may qualify to have the remainder of their student loans forgiven.
Saving in a Tax Deferred Annuity
A Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (TDA) allows you to invest in fixed and variable annuities and mutual funds in a tax-deferred account which allows you to save more for retirement outside of the university sponsored retirement plans.
