My Well-being

Employee Well-being: It’s not too late to get your flu shot!

On-campus flu clinics are complete for the year, but it is not too late to get your flu shot for you or a family member. Getting your flu shot is the single best way to prevent the flu. If you get the flu, having received the flu shot reduces your chances of severe symptoms, hospitalizations, and death.

Local pharmacies are permitted under Iowa law to provide a flu vaccine for all individuals six years and older, without a prescription. UNI Health Plans pay for 100% of the cost of a flu vaccine. For more information on local flu shot clinics in the community and tips to prevent the spread of the flu, visit: https://hrs.uni.edu/fluprevention

Taking Ownership

Taking Ownership: Coming Soon, New Wellmark ID Cards

You will soon receive a new Wellmark ID card in the mail. Your new ID card includes a new Wellmark ID number, so it’s important to put it in your wallet and destroy any old ID cards with an effective date before January 1, 2019. If you use an old card, your benefits may not apply correctly and the payment of your claims could be delayed or possibly denied. Always show your doctor’s office or pharmacy the most up-to-date card. To ensure you are using the most recent card, look for the print date shown in the lower left corner on the front of your card. For family plans, those on the UNI PPO will receive two cards. For families on the Blue Advantage, each person who is covered on the plan will have a card in their name. You may log into your MyWellmark account to request additional cards if needed.
