Don't Miss Out! Get Your Confidential Biometric Screening.

UNI provides one free biometric screening annually to all benefit eligible employees. Employees have four opportunities during the academic year to participate:

September 21, 2018
November 9, 2018
March 8, 2019
April 26, 2019

All screenings will be held in 007/009 Gilchrist from 7 to 9 a.m. Watch for additional registration information in the September newsletter.

All services are provided by Covenant Wellness Services. Health information obtained through the screening is considered privileged and confidential. Therefore, Covenant Wellness Services are the only ones that see your results, unless released with your expressed and written consent.

A biometric screening is an assessment of an individual's health that provides valuable insight and may identify potential health concerns. According to the CDC, 75% of healthcare costs are attributed to chronic preventable conditions. Biometric screenings help identify risks for chronic preventable diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. For more information visit the Biometric Screenings webpage.

Top ER Diagnosis for UNI

For UNI sponsored health plans, the #1 diagnosis in the Emergency Room are UTIs. Doctor On Demand recently wrote about Diagnosing a Urinary Tract Infection and the symptoms associated with a UTI. Doctor on Demand can diagnose a UTI by recognizing the symptoms and by reviewing patient medical history. A prescription may be sent to your pharmacy in order to treat the infection. Local Urgent Care Facilities can also diagnose and treat UTIs. Using Doctor on Demand or local urgent care facilities for diagnosing a UTI can help save both you and the plan money, instead of going to the emergency room.
