Buy Fresh, Buy LocalSummer is finally here and fresh produce is in abundance! Buying fresh local produce is good for our health and the community. The less time it takes food to travel from farm to table, the more nutrients it provides our bodies. It benefits the communities we live in as we are aiding and sustaining our local economy.
We are fortunate here at UNI to have local food options on or near campus. Did you know that every Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. (June - October) there is a College Hill Farmers Market? This is a great weekly opportunity to purchase healthy, locally sourced foods. In addition, you can sign-up to take part in a year-round Workplace Food Box Program. The program provides healthy, locally sourced food through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. Boxes are delivered to 007 Gilchrist Hall and must be picked up on Wednesdays from 8 to 10 a.m. For more information on both of these programs visit the Center for Energy & Environmental Education's webpage.

Explanation of Benefits (EOB), It’s Not a BillA common misconception about an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is that it is a bill. An EOB is a document sent by your insurance company. Your EOB tells you how much the provider charged, how much your insurance company is paying for the service, the network savings, and how much (if any) you are responsible for.
You can sign up to receive electronic EOB’s through your myWellmark® account with four simple steps:
- Log in or register for myWellmark® at Wellmark.com.
- Select My Account from the menu at the top.
- Click Edit under My Web Account.
- Under Information and Messaging, select “I agree to receive important information about my plan electronically” and Save Changes.
Visit our Health Insurance Made Easy webpage to learn more about how to read an EOB as well as how to sign up for a MyWellmark account. |
